Overview
IntuitFlip is a minimalist decision ritual disguised as a coin flip. At first glance, it looks simple: you enter two options, flip a coin, and receive a result.
But the result is not the point.
The real signal happens in the split second before the coin lands — when you realize which outcome you’re secretly hoping for. IntuitFlip captures that moment. It doesn’t tell you what to do. It reveals what you already wanted.

The problem
Modern decision fatigue doesn’t come from lack of information. It comes from overthinking.
We compare endlessly. We simulate outcomes. We research. We delay. But often, emotionally, we already know. The coin flip is a psychological probe — it temporarily removes control, and that’s when clarity leaks out.
If the coin lands on “Pizza” and you feel disappointed, the answer was never Pizza.
The mechanism
The flow is intentionally ritualistic.

Enter two options. Name the decision without overthinking the labels.

Flip the coin. A tactile animation with physical weight and presence.

Notice your first emotion. Before logic kicks in, observe the gut reaction.

Select: relieved or disappointed. A single honest signal.

Psychology behind it
IntuitFlip is built around three simple ideas.
⚡ Anticipatory emotion
We feel outcomes before we rationalize them. The body responds to imagined futures in real time.
🔀 Cognitive dissonance
When the result conflicts with our desire, discomfort appears instantly — before any deliberate thought.
🫀 Somatic signals
The body often reacts faster than logic. Instead of suppressing that reaction, IntuitFlip isolates it.
It creates a pause long enough to observe the signal that was always there.
Philosophy behind it
IntuitFlip borrows quietly from ideas that predate the digital age:
- Stoic acceptance of uncertainty
- Existential responsibility — you choose, not fate
- The idea that randomness reveals preference, it doesn’t dictate action
The core truth
The coin does not decide.
You do. The coin only removes the illusion of neutrality — the belief that more analysis will eventually produce the right answer.
Design approach
The goal was to design something that feels closer to a desk object than a startup tool.
🌑 Dark, minimal UI
Every element earns its place. Nothing decorative unless it adds meaning.
🪟 Subtle glassmorphism
Depth without noise — translucent surfaces that recede rather than compete.
🪙 Tactile coin animation
Framer Motion physics give the coin physical weight. The flip feels earned.
🚫 No clutter
No gamification. No notifications. No streaks. No social loops. Just the ritual.
Why I built it
I’ve built many tools that optimize productivity, automate tasks, or gamify systems. This one does the opposite.
It slows you down.
I wanted to explore whether technology could create clarity instead of more noise. IntuitFlip is small on purpose — it doesn’t try to be a life system. It creates a moment.
